Wake up beneath cathedral-high redwood ceilings in a former church, now a light-filled midcentury retreat surrounded by towering trees. With forest views in every room, a dedicated office, and fast Wi-Fi, this is your space to work deeply or truly unplug. Recently renovated with style and soul, it’s quiet, spacious, and close to the best of Sonoma County—wineries, wild coastlines, and redwood hikes. Whether you’re escaping, creating, or relocating, you’ll find sanctuary here.
Live, work, and breathe among the redwoods in this one-of-a-kind midcentury sanctuary. Originally built in 1924 as St. Rita’s Catholic Church, the home now blends original character with modern comforts. The construction of the church dates to the railroad era, when weekenders from San Francisco rode the North Pacific Coast line to Camp Meeker and beyond – part of the “Redwood Empire” resort boom that followed the logging days. Today, it’s a fully renovated 2-bedroom home with soaring ceilings, forest views from every room, and the kind of silence you forget you needed.
Whether you’re a digital nomad, on a creative sabbatical, or seeking a new rhythm of life, this 1,600-square-foot retreat offers the space and stillness to reconnect. The layout is open and airy, with warm wood, natural light, and original architecture that nods to its sacred past.
Every comfort is considered—from scent-free linens to cozy corners designed for rest and reconnection. All bedding and textiles are washed in organic, hypoallergenic detergent with no dyes or perfumes—clean comfort that honors both you and the land.
The home includes two peaceful bedrooms with plush beds, ample storage, and soft natural light. The bathroom is stocked with fresh towels and essentials to help you feel pampered throughout your stay.
The kitchen is fully equipped and freshly renovated, with granite countertops, a range, oven, dishwasher, and all the cookware and utensils needed to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a full dinner party. The adjacent dining area offers a welcoming space to gather, eat, and unwind—whether you’re enjoying takeout from Occidental or a meal of your own making.
In the living room, a comfortable sofa and forest-facing windows create a space to relax, read, or stream your favorite show on the smart TV. A private washer and dryer and fast Wi-Fi ensure convenience for longer stays.
Step outside and you’re in the redwoods. Wander, write, reset.
