Lassen National Park is a special place often referred to as a mini Yosemite with its boundless trails and waterfalls. The park offers outdoor enthusiasts endless recreational opportunities 🎿 🚴 🛶 🥾 🛷 year-round. Summer is an amazing time in Lassen - it is truly a paradise with bountiful waterfalls, deep swimming pools, numerous hiking trails, boiling mud pots, the spectacular Bumpass Hell - all within a 10 minute drive of the Chalet! Explore a bit further for kayaking opportunities on secluded alpine lakes, single track mountain bike trails, road biking to Mill Creek on a one lane rarely used highway and more! After all of that activity, settle into a cold drink on your private back patio with twinkly lights overlooking the towering trees while listening to the soothing sounds of croaking frogs at sunset. You'll soon see why they call this area the hidden gem of California!
Every aspect of this two story charming home has been remodeled with the guests' comfort in mind. The first floor has a wonderfully inviting open floor plan, inviting conversation and togetherness. Unwind and socialize in our tastefully appointed downstairs lounge, equipped with a large comfy couch 🛋 and leather armchair. Sure, eating out at the finest restaurants can be fun. But sometimes we all need a nice home-cooked meal, right!? Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials you'll need to cook 👩🍳👨🍳 for your family or friends. Sip hot cocoa by the stove, cook an amazing meal, spin a record on the turntable, or play a game in our dining room with seating to accommodate up to 9 people.
The second floor has plenty of room for a crowd, featuring a spacious living room with great views 🖼 for lounging and relaxing after a day of outdoor exploration. The living area extends out to include a large sleeping area with 2 queens, 3 twin beds and a king bed tucked into your own secluded alcove. Is that a cloud ☁️ you're sleeping on? Nope, thats just our 6 high quality mattresses, all equipped with Sunbeam heated mattress pads to keep you warm and cozy when the mercury dips outside. Bringing the family along? We’ve got you covered with a pack and play, kids movies and games.
Outside you'll be surrounded by nature on 2 acres with towering evergreens🌲 and lots of outdoor seating for you to take in the fresh air and serene wilderness. From your doorstep, listen to the hawks call overhead or the frogs croaking at sunset in spring. Our driveway provides ample parking for up
to 2 vehicles. No range anxiety here - charge your EV with our fast 40 amp EV charger, available for guest use (charge applies).
Tired of slow unreliable internet? Good news - the chalet has reliable and blazing fast Starlink WiFi so you can download all the content your heart desires (or you know, actually get some work done). Just don’t be surprised if you see a spaceship or two flying overhead - we like to think of it as a perk of staying with us! 🛸
While the home is fully stocked and equipped to host 9 people, we think the perfect group size is 5 to 6. We're more than happy to host all 9, but keep in mind it will be a little cozier.
Our Alpine Chalet is so perfect, you'll want to stay forever. We've had guests ask. Just kidding. (But seriously.)
Guests will have access to the chalet and surrounding grounds. There is an adjacent cabin with its own separate entrance on the same property. Guests will not have access to the other cabin, garage or sheds on the property.
I may occasionally be available next door (we have two detached cabins on the property with their own exterior entrances). In the case we are not available, I'm just a phone call away to help you troubleshoot (should anything go wrong).
The town of Mineral is a small island of private cabins surrounded by a sea of National Forest and National Park lands - an adventurer's dream. Enjoy world class trout fishing or a take a dip in one of Battle Creek's many waterholes, just 5 minutes drive away. Other nearby attractions include Lake Almanor, Lassen Volcanic Wilderness, Caribou Wilderness, Thousand Lakes Wilderness and Lassen National Forest.
Parking is free and right next to the Chalet. Our driveway has ample space for up to 4 vehicles.
